Alix John

London DJ, curator, and founder of Just 4 The Beat Records, Alix John stands as a torchbearer for the capital's deeply musical underground. Since establishing the independent platform in East London in 2015, he has built a home for music that sits comfortably outside strict genre boundaries while remaining fiercely dedicated to the dancefloor.

For over a decade, his work has bridged the connections between deep house, disco, broken beat, jazz, funk, Afro, and Latin-influenced rhythms. Through DJ sets, label releases, and radio broadcasts, Alix follows a singular philosophy: tracking the common thread of soul, rhythm, and musicality built to move people. Through his regular radioshow, he represents the modern London selector who understands that deep, soulful and Afro-diasporic dance music are not separate worlds. They are part of the exact same conversation.
