Jayvi Velasco

A fixture in the San Francisco Bay Area house scene since 1991, Jayvi Velasco pairs over three decades of experience behind the decks with technical precision, earning a degree in sound and recording engineering in 1998. He has shared bills with acclaimed house artists including Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Danny Krivit, Tony Humphries, Miguel Migs, and Osunlade, and was named to the Bembe DJ Awards' top 125 DJs of 2021.

Beyond the booth, Velasco is a key event builder across the Bay Area. The AfterAfterHours brand began in 2007 as a monthly late-night party in SF's Mission District and grew into the Back & 4th club night, which launched in 2014 at Wish SF. He also runs the I Found Luv party series, including all-vinyl editions in Oakland, and makes regular guest appearances at Compact Disco in Monterey.

Known for unscripted, intuitive sets that shift naturally with the room, Velasco remains an essential voice in West Coast house culture.
