Juliet Mendoza

DJProducer

Los Angeles, United States

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Afro-Latina DJ, producer, and dancer Juliet Mendoza came up through the city's mid-nineties underground house scene. A regular at legendary LA spots like Arena and Carnival, she first built her reputation on the dancefloor as a house dancer before stepping behind the decks and establishing herself as a key promoter and selector on the West Coast.

Her sound bridges the foundations of classic house music with deep, vocal, and soulful arrangements. As the founder of the LA party Jackin Jills and the mind behind Spiritual Systems Records, Mendoza treats house music as a site for genuine community. Her label focuses on uplifting POC and queer creatives, combining soulful house traditions with forward-thinking electronic production.

Named a Defected Records Unsung Hero winner in 2022, her sets have taken her from West Coast dancefloors to international stages in Amsterdam, Paris, Mexico City, and Croatia. Having shared decks with local scene staples like Marques Wyatt, DJ Heather, and Colette, Mendoza approaches every set with a dancer's instinct, prioritising heavy dancefloor orientated grooves, soulful vocals, and deep musical connection.
