Cordell Johnson

Chicago house veteran Cordell Johnson has been refining his craft since 1981, rooted in the foundational radio and club sets of Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Frankie Knuckles, and Ron Hardy.

From co-founding early Chicago mobile crews HottWaxx and 6 Ft. Under to guesting at Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Tokyo’s Loop Club, and NYC’s Bang the Party, Johnson’s career spans over four decades of deep, uncompromised selector culture. Today, he runs the monthly event series and label Excursions at The Whistler in Chicago.
